The systems warranty is limited to their manufacturer.

Need an Estimate? Here’s What to Expect

When you schedule an estimate a licensed irrigator will meet with you in person at your home or property. They will discuss your landscape and install needs. The irrigator will locate your water meter and check the water pressure and size of you meter. Together you will determine the appropriate sprinklers to install and where to install them maximizing water conservation and efficiency. During this time number of appropriate zones will also be decided in order to develop a 100% coverage plan. With all of this information an estimate will be developed. This estimate will be discussed with you, also discussing the installation process and warranty details. At this point you will sign your contract and schedule a sprinkler installation. We make the install as easy as possible for you by obtaining all required permits and locating all underground utilities.

Installation Process

The Texas Best Irrigation and Landscaping team will begin by flagging your property and identify all necessary utility lines. To begin the backflow preventer and master valve are installed. Trenching, piping and wiring install follows. Lateral sprinkler lines are all tied into the system and trenches are recovered. Controller and rain sensor are installed. Debris is flushed from each station by the technician. Nozzles and filters are installed to each sprinkler head. The system is then tested and adjusted followed by a city inspection. Once inspection has been passed a technician will train you how to use your system and walk you through all necessary information.

Components of a Sprinkler System

There are several components required for a sprinkler system to work. These components work together to create your highly valued sprinkler system. The sprinkler system is made of a network of PVC piping buried about 6 to 12 inches underground. These pipes are used to carry water to the retractable sprinkler heads. The sprinkler heads work on a pressure system. When water goes through the pip, it forces the sprinkler heads above ground. When the pressure drops, the sprinkler heads retract down to ground level. There are usually 10-15 sprinkler heads per zone that are activated simultaneously. Each system has a network of valves that are also buried underground that open and close determining which zones is activate. The sprinkler system is activated by a controller that is usually installed in a garage or another out of the way area. The controller allows you to customize watering times based on zones and other factors.

How to Determine Your Sprinkler Zones

Determining the number and types of zones your sprinkler system needs is one of the first things that must be decided when installing a sprinkler system. There are several factors that go into the number of zones required. Square footage is a large determining factor. The location of the meter, water main and your home’s water pressure also going into that decision. Types of landscape also factor into how many zones you may need. Garden areas require drip irrigation or bubbler head providing a more gentle watering protecting your plants. Landscape areas with shrubs and bushes need high-rise sprinklers that will provide coverage to taller plants. Grassy areas of your lawn use the most common sprinkler heads, which are adjusted to spray over the entire lawn without hitting porches, sidewalks or fences.  If you are planning upcoming landscape changes be sure to notify your technician so that your sprinkler system can be designed properly.
