Drainage

A drainage system can prevent water accumulation that can lead to flooding by directing the water away from your home. Drainage around buildings is important to prevent leaks and moisture intrusion into building foundations and walls. The drainage system also prevents the accumulation of stagnant water, which can encourage mosquitoes to breed. Don’t let a drainage problem create a costly fix for your yard!

Drain installation cost will vary depending on several factors. For instance, some are pool equipment, utility lines, lawn sprinkler systems, trees and shrubbery and fences. They are factors that impact prices because they will be time-consuming obstacles. The most expensive element of a French drain installation is labor. The more time consuming the labor is, then the higher price of the job. When our landscape drainage specialist provides an estimate for a customer, he has to inspect for obstacles during the installation.

Types of Drains

French Drains

A french drain is a slightly sloped trench with a pipe and surrounded with round gravel  that diverts water away from your house. French drains are concealed by soil and grass hidden underground. French drains provide an easy path for water to flow through. Water runs into a gravel-filled trench and then into a perforated pipe at the bottom of the trench. This drainage system prevents water from penetrating your home’s foundation or a building. Water is able to flow freely through the pipe and empties a safe distance from your home or building.

Channel Drains

Channel drains are used on the edge of a patio, walkway or pool deck or within a driveway. Channel drains are also called trench drains. Water drains through the top grate into a shallow channel and out through underground pipes to the chosen location. It’s essentially a gutter in the ground. These drains are great for preventing water from getting in unwanted locations and for preventing erosion along the edges of paved areas.

Area Drains

Area Drains are designed to collect excess water runoff from roofs, sidewalks and driveways. Area drains come in a variety of sizes to meet your specific needs.

Catch Basin Drains

A Catch Basin Drain is a drain that serves a combination of purposes, such as catching, holding and filtering runoff water from your lawn, around your home and from your gutters. A catch basin drain has a grate on top and a drainage pipe that slopes down away from the basin. The catch basin box is set at a low point on your property and helps maintain proper drainage and catches debris. Water and solids enter through the grate. Water drains out through the pipe and solids settle to the bottom.

Downspout Adapters

Downspout drainage systems help move water away from structures where it can cause damage. This is an add on to your drainage system that is designed to allow water to fall to the ground in a controlled manner and divert it away from the foundation and structure of your home or building.
